Verizon Family smartwatch connectivity FAQs

You can add smartwatches to your Verizon Family guardian, member or child accounts for location services. Verizon Family users who connect their smartwatches can be seen in the Verizon Family app.

With your smartwatch* connected to the Verizon Family app:

• Your location can be shared with other Verizon Family members.
• You can Initiate 24/7 Assist services.**

Important: We rely on your smartwatch's fall detection functionality to launch 24/7 Assist services on the smartwatch. If your smartwatch doesn't detect a fall, the Verizon Family app can't trigger 24/7 Assist Services, however you can still connect with a live agent by tapping the 24/7 Assist button in the Verizon Family app.

If you are part of a Verizon Family, you can add a compatible smartwatch to your Verizon Family app. You can connect a smartwatch to the free tier of Verizon Family or Verizon Family Plus ($14.99/month).

The Verizon Family watch app must be installed on your smartwatch to connect with the Verizon Family mobile app.

For Bluetooth connected smartwatches:

• Apple Watch users - When you pair your smartwatch with your smartphone, the Verizon Family watch app will automatically download to your smartwatch.
• Samsung and Google smartwatch users - Download the Verizon Family watch app through Google Play™ Store on your watch.

We'll send a notification to your Verizon Family mobile app to complete your Verizon Family watch app setup.

24/7 Assist gives you access to live agents for assistance during a medical emergency or an unsafe outdoor walk situation. This is only available to Verizon Family Plus users over 18.

Follow these steps to set up 24/7 Assist on your smartwatch:

1. Number Share and Bluetooth smartwatch - On your mobile device, open the Verizon Family app and accept the 24/7 Assist terms and conditions to enroll. 24/7 Assist will automatically set up on your smartwatch.
2. Standalone smartwatch - If you have a standalone smartwatch, you'll ned to set up 24/7 Assist through the Guardian's Verizon Family mobile app.
3. Attach the Verizon Family watchface complication to your smartwatch’s face.

Keep in mind:

• Enabling fall detection permissions on your smartwatch doesn’t activate fall detection for 24/7 Assist. You must also enable it in your mobile device's settings. Learn how to enable fall detection.
• We rely on your smartwatch's Fall Detection functionality to launch 24/7 Assist services on the smartwatch. If your smartwatch doesn't detect a fall, the Verizon Family app can't trigger 24/7 Assist services, however you can still connect to a 24/7 Assist live agent by tapping 24/7 Assist in the Verizon Family app.

Yes, the Verizon Family watch app must be installed on your guardian, member or child's smartwatch for you to locate them using their smartwatch.

No, parental control settings won't automatically be the same on their smartwatch. These controls include:

• Screen time
• Content monitoring
• Social media and web activity restrictions

You can view location history for the preceding 7 days in the Verizon Family app. Adult Verizon Family members' locations are only shown if they agree to share it.

Safe Walk is not available on smartwatches at this time.

24/7 Assist is built right into your smartwatch within the Verizon Family app. Users need to enable 24/7 Assist in their Verizon Family mobile app or if using a standalone smartwatch, through the guardian's Verizon Family mobile app.

One tap of the 24/7 Assist button:

• Connects you to a live, trained 24/7 Assist agent.
• Pinpoints your precise GPS location.*
• Alerts all of your emergency contacts.
• Dispatches local emergency services if you need them.

Also, if your smartwatch's native fall detection is triggered, a 24/7 Assist agent will automatically call your smartwatch to check if you need assistance.

*If location sharing has been enabled.

24/7 Assist uses your device's native fall detection settings to alert loved ones in the event of a fall. A live person will contact your loved one and make sure they are okay. They will dispatch emergency services if needed. Learn how to enable fall detection on your smartwatch:

Keep in mind: We rely on your smartwatch’s fall detection functionality to notify 24/7 Assist services on the smartwatch. To display your location from your smartwatch, you need to do the following:

• Allow for notifications permission.
• Allow for location permission.
• Add the Verizon Family complication to your smartwatch face*.

If you've denied location or notification permissions on your smartwatch before, you'll need to re-enable them. This applies to both Android and Apple devices.

To re-enable:

• Check your location and notification settings on your mobile device to ensure they are enabled.
• In your smartwatch's settings, enable location and notification permissions.
