Here's how to use the 'Contactless payments' service with your Pixel 8 / 8 Pro.

When NFC is turned on, you can use 'Contactless payments' to pay for items just by touching your phone to a reader at a checkout register. If your device doesn't have a payment app, you can browse Google Play™ for payment apps.

To use 'Contactless payments', NFC must be enabled.

To install apps, refer to Google Play Store - Install Apps.

Open the

Navigate:

Connected devices

Connection preferences

NFC

Tap

Use NFC

then select one of the following:
