Here's how to check settings on your Messages by Google app if you're not receiving your picture / video messages.

If you're not receiving picture / video messages, follow the steps below to ensure 'Auto-download MMS' is turned on.

Open the

Messages

app.

Tap the profile picture (upper-right).

Tap

Messages settings

Tap

Advanced

Tap

Auto-download MMS

to turn on or off.

Only available when Messages is set as default SMS app.
