Lenovo Flex 5G - Activate / Set Up Device

Here's how to quickly set up your Flex 5G laptop.

If you need to transfer contacts and media from one device to another, follow these step-by-step instructions before activating your new Lenovo Flex 5G.

New lines of service are activated when the device is powered on.

If upgrading an existing line of service, call the toll free number (877-807-4646) once the device is received and follow the instructions to activate your Flex 5G.

Ensure the previous device is turned off.

If performing first time (out-of-the-box) setup, ensure the pre-installed Verizon 5G SIM card is inserted.

If powered off, from the keyboard press the

Power Key

Select a language then tap or click

Yes

(lower-right).

From the Basic screen, tap or click

meet Cortana

To mute Cortana, tap or click the

Microphone icon

(lower-left)

Select a region, then tap or click

Yes

Select the preferred keyboard layout, then tap or click

Yes

From the 'Want to add a second keyboard layout' screen, tap or click

Skip

Select the preferred network then tap or click

If prompted, enter the network security key (Wi-Fi password) then tap or click

To continue, review the Windows 10 License Agreement then tap or click

To sign in with Microsoft, enter an email address, phone or Skype account then tap or click

If prompted, enter the password then tap or click

When prompted to set your fingerprint to sign in, tap or click 'Skip for now' or 'Set up'.

Fingerprint reader is located on the Power Key (upper-right).

Follow these instructions to set up fingerprint recognition.

Tap or click

Create PIN

(lower-right).

Enter a PIN, re-enter the PIN then tap or click

From the 'Do more across devices with activity history' screen, tap or click 'Yes' or 'No'.

From the 'Get instant access to your Android phone..' screen, tap or click

Do it later

From the 'Back up your files' screen, tap or click 'Only save files to this PC' or 'Next'.

From the 'Set up your free Office..' screen, tap or click

From the 'Get help from your digital assistant' screen, tap or click

Choose privacy settings for your device then read through settings, adjust as desired then tap or click
