OnePlus 8 5G UW - Activate / Set Up Device

These steps guide you through setting up and customizing your OnePlus 8 5G UW for everyday use.

To activate the device on prepaid service, refer to Set up Verizon Prepaid Service.

Ensure a 5G SIM is inserted in the device prior to powering on.

To avoid potential activation / service issues, don't insert a 4G SIM card.

5G devices purchased from Verizon include a pre-installed 5G SIM card.

Press and hold the

Power button

until the OnePlus logo appears then release.

Select the appropriate language then tap

Start

Review the Terms and Conditions then select any of the switches to turn on Switch on

or off

and tap

AGREE

From the 'Phone Activation' screen, tap

If prompted, enter your Verizon account PIN then follow the onscreen prompts. (see Account PIN FAQs for additional info).

If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off.

Select a network then enter the password.

to add Wi-Fi networks after setup is complete.

From the 'Copy apps and data' screen, tap

if you'd like a fresh start.

If troubleshooting, don't restore the device until all testing has been completed.

From the 'Google services' screen, select any of the switches to turn on Switch on

From the 'How to use fingerprint' screen, tap

then follow one screen prompts.

to add a fingerprint after setup is complete.

From the 'Set screen lock' screen, select an option then tap

to add a screen lock or set up face recognition after setup is complete.

From the 'Verizon Services' screen, select any of the switches to turn on Switch on

or off

then tap

From the 'Verizon Cloud' screen, tap

Tap

Skip

to set up Verizon Cloud after setup is complete.

From the 'Digital Secure' screen, tap

ACCEPT.

Tap

SKIP

to bypass and set up later.

From the 'Font' screen, select an option then tap

From the 'Setup completed' summary screen, tap

Finish
