Software Upgrade Assistant (LG) - Initial Setup

Here's how to install the LG Software Upgrade Assistant on your PC or Mac.
  • Here's how to install the LG Upgrade Assistant on your PC or MAC to use if an Over the Air software upgrade fails.
  • If the update fails to install, please refer to the Software Repair Assistant for further assistance.
Ensure the following system requirements are met prior to installation of the Software Upgrade Assistant (SUA):
  • Windows 2000 (SP4 or later), Windows XP (SP1, SP2 or SP3), Windows Media or Windows 7 (with admin rights), Windows 8, Windows 10, MAC OS X 10.7 and later versions.
    The MAC version of the Software Update Assistant is supported for most newer LG Smartphones and tablets.
  • 1 GHz (or higher) Pentium-compatible processor with a minimum 256 MB of RAM.
  • At least 2.5 GB of available hard drive space.
  • USB cable
  • High-speed internet connection.
  • The most recent software version becomes available on the SUA/SRA tool within a week of a new software update. During this time, the SUA/SRA is unavailable for usage.

  1. Ensure the wireless device is powered on then connect it to a compatible computer using the supplied USB cable.
    If the device is not recognized immediately, pull down the notification panel to switch the device mode from "Charge Only" to "MTP", "File Transfer" or "Software Installation" mode.
  2. If presented, click

    then skip to step 4.
    If the AutoPlay pop up window is not available, open Windows Explorer (press

    If the software doesn't download from your device after plugging into your computer, download directly from LG's website.
  3. If downloading from LG's website, select 'Run' to load the software directly to the device or tap 'Save' to download the software update to your computer for a later installation.
  4. On the Welcome screen, click

  5. To continue, review the License Agreement and ensure "I accept the agreement" is selected then click

    The device drivers are automatically installed upon accepting the terms of the license agreement.

  8. If prompted to check for compatibility click

  9. From the Software License Agreement screen click

  10. To continue installation, click
    Agree
    to the terms of the software license agreement.

  11. From the installation location screen, click

    If prompted, enter your computer password then click Install Software.

  13. When the installation process has completed click
    Restart

  14. Click the
    Software Upgrade Assistant tray icon
    (located at the top-right).
    Click SUA-SRA tray icon to launch Software Upgrade Assistant
