Set up Auto Pay for monthly mobile bill discounts FAQs

Auto Pay lets the Account Owner and Account Managers set up a recurring, automatic monthly payment for your mobile bill.

• Your Auto Pay payment can be drawn from a bank account, debit card or credit card*.
• You can sign up for Auto Pay in My Verizon or by phone.

Combine Auto Pay with paper-free billing and you may be eligible for a monthly discount*:

• An up to $10 monthly per-line discount on eligible mobile phone plans.
• As $10 monthly per-line discount on eligible wireless 5G Home or LTE Home Internet plans.
  

*If you use the Verizon Visa Card, you can earn 1% in Verizon Dollar rewards on your Verizon purchases.
**You must enroll in Auto Pay and paper-free billing using your bank account or Verizon Visa Card to qualify for the discount. Exception: If you signed up for the Auto Pay and paper-free billing discount using a debit card before 2/14/24, you continue earning the discount, even if you change to a different eligible mobile plan or a different debit card.

If you combine Auto Pay and paper-free billing, you may be eligible for a per line monthly discount on eligible monthly phone and/or home internet plans. To qualify, you must:

• Be on an eligible monthly mobile phone plan and/or eligible monthly 5G Home or LTE Home Internet plan.
• Visit my Verizon and sign up for Auto Pay and paper-free billing.

Important: You must use a bank account or Verizon Visa Card as your Auto Pay payment method*.

*Exception: If you signed up for the Auto Pay and paper-free billing discount using a debit card before 2/14/24, you continue earning the discount. You keep the discount even if you change to a different eligible mobile plan or a different debit card.

When you use Auto Pay and paper-free billing to pay your bill, you can get:

• A $10/month discount* for each line that has myPlan- Unlimited Ultimate, Unlimited Plus, Unlimited Welcome
• An up to $5/month discount* for each line that has 1 of these plans:
  • 5G Get More, 5G Do More, 5G Play More, 5G Start, Welcome Unlimited, One Unlimited for iPhone (These plans are no longer available to be added to your account).
  • Get More Unlimited, Do More Unlimited, Play More Unlimited, Just Kids (These plans are no longer available to be added to your account).

Good to know: You can change to myPlan anytime in My Verizon.

When you sign up for Auto Pay, we send you a confirmation message that has your automatic payment date.

Yes, you can make a one-time payment virtually any time, even if you're set up for Auto Pay.

If you make a one-time payment for the full amount of your balance, your next Auto Pay payment will be skipped. If your one-time payment is less than the balance due, the remainder will be paid via Auto Pay.

Keep in mind:

• If you make a one-time payment near your Auto Pay date and your automatic payment is already in process, you'll see a message letting you know that making the payment may result in a duplicate payment.
• If you're getting the Auto Pay and paper-free billing discount* and use a credit card to make a one-time payment online or through the My Verizon app, the removed discount will appear as a charge on your next bill.

Account Owners and Account Managers can set up Auto Pay and Paper-free billing in My Verizon and follow the on-screen prompts. Or in the My Verizon app, tap the Menu icon in the top-left of your screen, tap Bill and follow the prompts.

Note: If you select a payment date that's the 29th, 30th or 31st, your payment will be made the following day for months that don't include that date.

You can make a one-time payment with your Verizon Gift Card anytime. The amount will be applied to your account, and the next payment made through Auto Pay will be reduced to reflect the Gift Card amount.

To make a one-time payment with a Gift Card while set up for Auto Pay go to the Pay your bill page. When asked to pick a payment method, choose the Gift card option.

You can change your Auto Pay payment method any time in My Verizon. Just go to the Manage your payment settings page and select Manage next to the payment method.

To change your Auto Pay payment date:

• In My Verizon  go to the Manage your payment settings page
• Select Edit next to the payment date and choose a new date.

Note: If you select a payment date that's the 29th, 30th or 31st, your payment will be made the following day for months that don't include that date.

Important: If your next payment is due before your new withdrawal date, be sure to make your next payment manually.

You can pause an automatic payment in My Verizon up to the day before it's set to post.

You can't cancel a payment on the day it's set to post.

To stop an automatic payment go to the Manage your payment settings page, tap Pause or turn off and select Pause.

Auto Pay won't make a payment until your payment date for the next month.

Note: Only your upcoming payment is paused, and Auto Pay resumes as usual on your payment date the following month.

To turn off Auto Pay in My Verizon, go to the Manage your payment settings page, select Pause or turn off and choose Turn off.
