Great sound but...

The sound is great. Unfortunately the speaker disconnects or turns off. My previous phone had the same issue. I have a Clip 4 without the issue and enjoy the sound but was hoping to upgrade with a new and improved model.

We appreciate your feedback. If your JBL Clip 5 turns off randomly, please make sure that the speaker is fully charged before using it. If this still does not resolve the issue, proceed to perform the reset. To reset the speaker, remove the speaker from your source device's Bluetooth settings. Power on the speaker, then press and hold the Volume + button and Play/Pause button together for 2 seconds until the speaker turns off. Pair the speaker again to your device to see if it fixes the issue. However, if your product keeps disconnecting from your device, feel free to contact our customer support directly for us to know more about the issue and to assist you further with your concern. https://support.jbl.com/us/en/#contact

I bought this for a client gift, and am glad I bought two. One of them came out with crisp lines with our logo, the other had the logo at a slight angle and was not accepted. The sound is clear and charge works well. I was disappointed in the customization.

Perfectly honest I can't say as I can tell a difference between this and my JBL clip 4 Hopefully the clip does not break on this one and the charging port does not quit making a connection to where I cant charge it No more like the 4 did

The speaker is so good! I wish I knew that the personalization should have been in bigger font. The pictures do not show actual look. Close, but not 100% accurate. That’s probably my fault for picking a greyscale logo.

The speaker quality is great, but I’m sad over the quality of the picture I had paid extra for. The picture looked poor when it came it, but I wasn’t too worried about it because how good could the picture really come out on the porous surface of the speaker, fine, whatever. But now after only owning it for two weeks the picture is severely scratched up and coming off already with very simple use.

I bought a jbl 5 because the battery quit on my 3, on my 5 if I get a call the speaker quits same with incoming emails or messages, my 3 would allow acall to ring through and then just pick back up, I tried your help, chat and messaging but my need didnt fit a catagory

In our recent Clip series like our JBL Clip 5 does not include a built-in microphone, as this model focuses on music playback. If you are looking for a portable speaker with a speakerphone, you might want to check out our JBL Go 2. Solid little speaker with great sound

Have had this for a couple weeks - this little speaker sounds great with surprisingly solid bass and crisp hi notes. The clip is great for securing to anything - the entire unit is solid and has enough weight that it’s easy to tell that it’s quality but light enough to take anywhere and stores easily. I use it on the golf course and around the yard when getting yard work done - the pairing process is easy and quick.

I absolutely love that you can personalize the speaker. I wish I would have went with a brighter photo (one taken outside versus inside). The photo I went with wasn’t completely dark, but it appears dark on the speaker which is why I gave this a 3 star review. I wish they had a feature on there which flags certain photo specs for quality on brightness on what will be produced. I ordered 2 other speakers that turned out great.

Can I use this in the shower?

Thanks for your question. Yes, you can use our JBL Clip 5 in the shower. It has an IP67 rating, making it dustproof and capable of being submerged in 1m of water for 30 minutes. Please make sure that the unit is completely dry before charging it. Also, please note that the Maximum Operation Temperature of it is 45 degrees Celsius.

Can the speaker stand on its own on a flat surface? Or must it be clipped to something?

Thanks for your question. Our JBL Clip 5 can not stand upright on its own as it doesn't have a flat surface base, it is designed to be clipped or laid flat when placed on a table.

Can I use 2 of them as rear surround speakers for my LG TV of 2025 with Auracast and can they stay connected with the mains through usbc all the time?

Yes, our JBL Clip 5 can remain connected to a power outlet via USB‑C for charging, but while it can form a stereo pair through Auracast using the JBL Portable app, this feature only works when paired with a phone or tablet, since the app is not available for TVs. So, even though our Clip 5 can connect to your LG TV via Bluetooth, you won’t be able to stereo pair them directly through the TV.

How close does it need to be near your Bluetooth device to stay connected?
